Jim Stephenson is a photographer who specialises in Architecture photography. Jim was asked to provide images in the following three disciplines: Self Portrait, Still Life and Street.
"I trained as an architectural technologist, on graduation I worked in the industry for almost ten years on both sides of the Atlantic. During this time I began to take photographs for architectural practices, eventually setting down my pen to photograph buildings full time. My background allows me to converse meaningfully with my clients; I understand the architect's intent and confidently convey this in my photography. A personal passion for the industry is also evident in my work; I care deeply about architecture and my own relationship with the built environment.
In the past few years, my work has taken on a documentary-style edge as I study and depict how people interact with buildings and spaces. Working with film-maker Edward Bishop, I have also started to produce short films of architectural projects for clients."
