In April 2014 curator Stuart Pilkington invited 16 photographers to take part in his latest project entitled 'The Three Disciplines'.
Each of the invited photographers is a practitioner in one of 16 photography disciplines including: animal, architecture, camera phone, conceptual, documentary, early photography process, fashion, food, landscape, music, nude, portrait, self portrait, still life, street and urbanscape.
They were asked to create three images over a six month period in response to three of the sixteen aforementioned disciplines, (outside of their own), which were chosen randomly and presented to them in April 2014. They were asked to produce three photographs that would work together and show authorship, to present their abilities as best they could and that they could incorporate their own discipline within each image if they so wished.
On 1st Novemeber 2014 all sixteen photographers submitted their three images and they were all uploaded on the project website. Launch event documentation photography by Nicholas Teal Photography, Yorkshire.
